Press Release - OPI Celebrates Disney’s Oz - The Great and Powerful with Limited Edition Nail Lacquers, Including NEW Liquid SandTM Hue

OPI announces the launch of six limited edition nail lacquers and a new Liquid Sand™ shade, inspired by Disney’s Oz The Great and Powerful. With an all-star cast that includes James Franco and Michelle Williams, this highly-anticipated film opens in theaters on March 8, 2013.

OPI is very excited to take this fantastical journey with Disney,” explains Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director. “Inspired by the magic of Oz The Great and Powerful, this SoftShades collection captures the whimsy seen in the film, from glittery shades packed with white, gold and silvery iridescent confetti – Lights of Emerald City, When Monkeys Fly! and Which is Witch? – to soft neutrals in white, beige and pink – Don’t Burst My Bubble, Glints of Glinda and I Theodora You.

“The new Liquid Sand nail lacquer – What Wizardry is This? – features OPI’s groundbreaking technology for a textured, matte finish infused with reflective sparkle,” adds Weiss-Fischmann. “This rich taupe hue was designed for James Franco’s character, the great Wizard of Oz, and is sure to make a bold statement this spring.”

With a mix of soft crème and warm glitter shades, the line is ideal for layering to create rich, complex looks. In addition to the Liquid Sand nail lacquer in What Wizardry is This?, the promotion includes:

    Lights of Emerald City
White confetti adds city girl flair and style to nails.

    Don’t Burst My Bubble
Don’t wake me...I’m dreaming about puffy clouds of white.

    When Monkeys Fly!
I’m simply bananas for this gold confetti.

    Glints of Glinda
Only a good witch could turn beige from meek to chic.

    Which is Witch?
Is this silver glitter with iridescent sparkle or the other way around?

    I Theodora You
This adorable, sheer pink is bewitching on you.

As with all OPI nail lacquers, the shades inspired by Oz The Great and Powerful contain no DBP, Toluene, or Formaldehyde, and feature OPI’s exclusive ProWide™ Brush for the ultimate in application. This limited edition promotion will be available beginning March 2013 at Professional Salons, including Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, jcp Salons, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, and ULTA, for $9.00 ($10.95 CAN) suggested retail for each nail lacquer. ABOUT Oz The Great and Powerful
Disney’s fantastical adventure “Oz The Great and Powerful,” directed by Sam Raimi, imagines the origins of L. Frank Baum’s beloved wizard character. When Oscar Diggs (James Franco), a small-time circus magician with dubious ethics, is hurled away from dusty Kansas to the vibrant Land of Oz, he thinks he’s hit the jackpot—fame and fortune are his for the taking—that is until he meets three witches, Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams), who are not convinced he is the great wizard everyone’s been expecting. Reluctantly drawn into the epic problems facing the Land of Oz and its inhabitants, Oscar must find out who is good and who is evil before it is too late. Putting his magical arts to use through illusion, ingenuity—and even a bit of wizardry—Oscar transforms himself not only into the great wizard but into a better man as well.

“Oz The Great and Powerful” is produced by Joe Roth, with screen story by Mitchell Kapner and screenplay by Mitchell Kapner and David Lindsay-Abaire. Grant Curtis, Palak Patel, Philip Steuer and Josh Donen are serving as executive producers. “Oz The Great and Powerful” opens in U.S. theaters on March 8, 2013.

Press Release - China Glaze Tranzitions Collection

COLOR + TOP COAT = ENDLESS CREATIVITY

China Glaze® Introduces TranzitionsColor Changing Collection

Los Angeles, CA – (December 2012): There’s nail art and then there’s China Glaze® nail couture.  Reverse French manicure, half moons, ombre, basket weave, dots or racing stripes: nail designs are intricate and multi-colored.  China Glaze® introduces a new way to get multi-color, unique nail art with fewer bottles of polish with the new color-changing Tranzitions collection!

China Glaze® Tranzitions’ revolutionary new nail lacquer reacts when a clear top coat is applied, changing the color from one shade to another for a stunning effect.  Wear any of the six beautiful, color-shifting shades alone, or allow your creativity to run wild and create intricate nail designs by applying a top coat in specific places.  Try different looks using nail art brushes, free-hand designs or nail guides.  Because each shade changes color, you get two lacquers in one, creating an entirely new look with just one swipe.

The China Glaze® Tranzitions collection features six shades, though with the color transition, you get 12 unique shades including:

    ·         Split Perso-NAIL-ity – Dusty pink shifts to fuchsia

    ·         Duplicityy – Mint green shifts to vibrant teal

    ·         Modify Me – Periwinkle blue shifts to indigo blue

    ·         Altered Reality – Teal blue shifts to turquoise

    ·         Metallic Metamorphosis – Silvery grey shifts to bluish-charcoal grey

    ·         Shape Shifter – Smokey violet shifts to dark purple

    How It Works:
Step 1: Apply a base coat.
Step 2: Apply two coats of China Glaze® Tranzitions shade of choice.  Allow to completely dry.
Step 3: Lastly, apply one coat of clear top coat such as China Glaze® Fast Forward and watch the color change right before your eyes.

For more nail design ideas, click here to view the China Glaze® Tranzitions video.

The China Glaze® Tranzitions collection will be available in January 2013 at fine salons and beauty supply stores nationwide.

China Glaze is free of DBP, toluene, and added formaldehyde, and is never tested on animals.

China Glaze nail lacquers are available through salons and professional beauty supply stores nationwide. For more information, please visit www.chinaglaze.com or follow China Glaze on Facebook (@ChinaGlazeOfficial), Twitter (@ChinaGlaze) and Pinterest (pinterest.com/chinaglaze).

Color Club - Fall 2012 In True Fashion - Part 2

Tonight, I have for you the 2nd part of the Color Club 2012 In True Fashion Collection, you can find Part 1 here.  I apologize ahead of time if my swatches aren't the best, my laptop crashed a few weeks ago and my new one won't be here until Christmas time.  I'm on my Daughter's laptop and her screen has been damaged, leaving me not being able to see very well.

Two coats of polish and one coat of top coat was used in all swatches unless otherwise noted.  Application was easy and smooth.

Part 2 of the Color Club In True Fashion Collection

In The Limelight - a soft blue cream polish.

By Design - a deep creamy purple.

Fashion Moment - a deep eggplant cream.

Look Book - a bright red cream.

    Muse-ical - a charcoal gray cream.

Style Icon - a burgandy cream.  This swatch looks spotty on my
Daughter's computer, and it may be the lighting or reflection, it was
not like that at all in person.
